-162°C trading power EXHIBITION: TOKYO

-162°C is the temperature at which natural gas becomes liquid, shrinking its volume by six hundred times, becoming a convenient commodity to trade. Japan is the top liquid natural gas purchaser for Qatar. Although the agreement appears to be mostly economic, the unique connection between the two countries impacts lifestyle, environmental and geopolitical issues.

This installation investigates the implications of this trade, and translates it into generated material printed by a kinetic installation.
